Dancers should have a modern/contemporary background, strong contact improv/partnering skills, and great dedication. Dancers should bring a copy of their headshots & resumes to the audition and arrive ready to dance. The audition will incorporate combinations, partnering and some contact improvisation. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings, and will start immediately. There are several performances lined up for the summer & fall season which may include some travel. 07-06-10 - Boston, MA>Hartford, CT - Dancers needed for song video. The Either/Orchestra, a Grammy nominated jazz/latin/african group, is making a video for "The (one of a kind) Shimmy," a song on their upcoming album. In the story, the band (ten pieces, lots of horns) is transported from a bland grey place to Groovy-world, where people are partying and dancing, there are psychedelic lights, and people are dressed in a 60s, Austin Powers-ish style. We need dancers for the party, to learn a few simple combinations. They will be something like 60s party dances, with a little Fosse, latin and jazz thrown in. We'll have to work super fast, we're not looking for slick perfection but enthusiasm and energy. There will be a choreographer, but you will have ample opportunity to make up some of your own moves. The shoot is at 10 pm THIS Thursday till about 1 am. You will have to costume yourself. This is an indie, no-budget project, so no pay - but it will be a nice looking video that will get wide circulation - and if you're good, you'll appear onscreen! -- Project Type: 1
